This is a Haiku about the French Revolution though you barely have info enough to deduce so from the haiku itself.

Hope spread fast

The stage was set for change

Not long to wait

Your note says to tell you if it has the 5-7-5 syllable haiku rule and it doesn't really.. but I don't think that it matters much. This is an amazing poem. It has the situation down pat (for that particular revolution or any), and describes it well. I don't often say this about haiku's, but forget the rule - don't change a thing. It's perfect the way it is.

Thank you! This is my very first haiku I have ever written and I was kind of unsure if it should follow the rules. I almost never write haikus or sonnets and instead stick to free verse which I like more. Thank you very much!

I write alot of haikus. I tend to like the flow. But yours has the same flow even though the syllables are off - rather than 5/7/5 its 4/6/4. Same feel, so it works just as well. Add the amazing imagery, and you have a perfect poem.
