A Chapter by Isa Ruffatti

This is my essay about success translated into English (PLEASE TELL ME IF SOMETHING IS WRONG).

The road to success requires you to have many skills and habits, such as excellence, prestige, leadership, and a large slice of effort. In the eighth grade I have accumulated a fair amount of knowledge like the basic rules of mathematics, science and social studies in addition to me being bilingual, knowing both English and my native tongue, Spanish. To be honest, I am capable of doing anything unless it is against my principles, and as every successful student I have yet a lot more to learn.

Everyone has difficulties, and I have zillions of them. For example, I can be irresponsible and lazy when it concerns finishing my homework. I don't like working in a team because most people tend to ignore me or tend not listening to me. To have a successful life I must tame my laziness and try to be more sociable so that people don't think that I am being rude or that I am downright useless. When the population increases, naturally, the competition for a good job increases and it will not be easy to find a job when billions of other people sign in to have the same job.

As I study on one of the best schools in El Salvador, one would expect me to have an ideal academic level according to my studies. I already know quite a lot about chemistry, physics, the Cold War, the family ambitions of the Medici, Mao Tze Dong’s communist follies, sonnets, Shakespeare, the Holocaust, drama and algebra and even the French Revolution. Unfortunately I don't know much about the history of my country as I spent several years away in Costa Rica but on the bright side there is enough time in High School for that.

I am not entirely satisfied with what I’ve learnt so far. I am eager to travel the world and learn from the culture of others. Plus, I have a life to live and I’m not passing on the occasion. I absolutely love to see historical documentaries and read books with something real in them. It is quite interesting to research all that has happened in these last few years and the modern world has made it even easier with the Internet.

Prestige is vital to reach the stars of success. Prestige consists of moral values and my family has taught me honesty among others. I have talent and I intend to use it to wade through the mess that this world is and do something for the world and others. I may be a mere dreamer today, and tomorrow is getting closer every day and I am willing to risk everything to make it right.
