Black Marathon

Black Marathon

A Poem by Isa Ruffatti
"

This is a poem on the terror the Black Plague caused in Europe.

"
As silent and deadly as it could be
Death itself it seemed
spread through Europe
with frightening velocity
panic and chaos let loose
People prayed for mercy
nothing came
Royalty was a joke on these dark days
Fear ruled before man
Welcome to the Dark Ages, to Hell
where a new dawn, so seemingly innocent
meant yet another fierce fight for survival

HEE HEE. Make sure the english monarch doesn't see this;)
Death is one character that refuses to relinquish power. That is, until it met God.
The Black Plague was awful. Disease is one thing i think i can fear more than Death.
I love the free lance nature of the poem. Keep it up.
