Road That Never Ends

Road That Never Ends

A Poem by Connor Veenstra

Behind me is a bad life I'm glad to leave behind,
With every step I take there's more spring in my stride,
If traveling on this road means fresh places and new friends,
I'd prefer a road that never ends,

My house in my old life never seemed like home to me,
Hardened faces, sad nutcases, everywhere I see,
I once was blind, but now I see the kindliness of men,
Out here on the road that never ends,

From Washington to NYC there's sights that make you stare,
Rocky mountains, shining rivers, majesty to spare,
But if you're lonely on this journey this I can contend:
Best join us on the road that never ends.
