part 5: math-based

Wow, all of us are like siblings

We fight

And we laugh

Fight,

And forgive

 

“I should get my OJ,” I comment,

Looking down sadly into my glass

“it’s all gone.”

 

“it must give you an empty feeling,”

He says, and before I understand,

You laugh.

In my opinion,

It’s a terrrible pun

(but I won’t say so

Because you allready have coffee

sprayed all over your face).

 

I smile, nod,

Pretend it’s all good

But I think,

Does this mean something?

You’re my cousin,

and I’d rather leave

and do math instead

 

(because everything is math based, as you know)

 

 My phone rings

And I answer:

“hello?”

It’s a voice

And I look down at the floor

And want to know why.
