Addiction

Addiction

A Poem by don't know

I inhale every
last
word
you say until my lungs
can't handle it,
gasping for Truth-
but all I get is flavored tar
and an oral fixation
beyond my control.

You are my worst habit,
yet I don't want to quit you-
each crown is greater than
the sum of all the
consequences

Excellent description of being so attached to another that it is like an addiction. It may seem as if it is one's worst habit, but it is that which one cannot live without.
It's worth all the risks, the bad with the good that makes it worth the pain, trouble, heartache.
Truth can't seem to reek through the smoke of the oral fix.
