i practiced remembering

i practiced remembering

A Poem by cricket
"

i really miss someone.

"
i practiced remembering you today.

that teddy bear you gave me,
it’s brown fur so thread-worn and
full of mats
from where’d you’d clutched it
tightly against you
for countless nights before
this one

i hold it against me now.

it doesn’t smell like you anymore,
i pretend that it does and
think of all the ways
that i can remember you
when i have so little of
you left

i miss you.

every day seems like
just more time to wait,
another bus stop before
we arrive home to
each other

tomorrow i will practice again.

A real sense of loss here. I could relate. My mum died earlier this year, I wear her coat. I wrote a poem about it too. I understand the emotion behind this write. Found it touching.
