Nothing

Nothing

A Poem by Alanna

A gentle breeze
stirs the weightless air.
I look down
feet balanced
on a gossamer thread
below that
nothing.

One tiny filament
stretched taut
by some invisible force
is all that stands
between me
and nothing.

Soundlessly
it snaps
and I feel
nothing.
