Hell SestinaA Poem by AFleetingMomentA sestina written in the dead of the nightA hellish night filled with pain. I gaze to the Heavens and among the stars, In the cold hard sky, A deathly moon. My heart, It feels like silvery stone As does my gaunt, bloodless face. Stabbed in the face, By family and friends. Undying pain, Is what I must face within my heart, Yet it is set in stone. Bloodless as the cold black sky. I can no longer see the stars. We burn the Angels as they fall from the stars. Welcome the damned with a stone Dagger coated in blood. As the red mist spills forth from the sky Turn to love for peace, you see her face. Yet all you see is pain. Thus you must drink the blood which spills from its heart. Nothing beats within my chest, my heart It no longer exists. I beg for a reprise among the stars But Hell is a dark master, whose whip is of stone Unrelenting, Hell has no face. The obscurity adds to the pain And hatred becomes my sky. I lay alone under a blood red sky, A silver bullet embedded in my chest, yet I feel no pain. Dead celebrities are no longer stars In Hell, you are just another face. What matters lies within your heart. Nothing is forever; only death is set in stone. My existence is as bleak as the stone Upon which our deaths have been inscribed, like the stars In the sky My suffering unending, yet without pain For ennui has triumphed, and numbed my heart To what which torments me so: My masters face. We turn to stone. Freed from pain, I disappear. To face what is in my heart, No longer. I bid farewell to the stars, and join my brothers in the sky. © 2011 AFleetingMomentAuthor's Note
