Worlds Of Wanderers

Worlds Of Wanderers

A Poem by Irfan Bashir Shah

Words are worlds of wanderers;

Waning wishes, his or hers.

Time is but an apprentice

Learning lessons- Silence through noise.

Through my ringing ears I hear

The nocturnal heralds of hazy peril,

Then with my weary withered eyes,

I see the oceans drowning skies.

I sauntered the deserts of scorching sands

With club and cryptic cubes in hands;

Skewered and shuddered the green less land,

Espying for eons to end an errand.

A realm through a portal I found,

Where once, deities and devils dwelt appeased;

Only to return with a broken might

When a shattered fairytale besieged my sight.

Amazing format. and amazing thought process. through every word u give a vivid picture of exactly whats happening... my best lines are :
"I sauntered the deserts of scorching sands
With club and cryptic cubes in hands;
Skewered and shuddered the green less land,
Espying for eons to end an errand."

its obviously a very interstng write announcing strength and depth in it. I love the metaphor of the traveller u used. It has enhanced the underlying meaning so beautifully. Just can say its one of the best pieces tht i have come across :) keep sharing nd thnks

I don't know about all that fancy poetic structure stuff, non-poet myself, but I think you've captured the essence of a wanderer in your verses. The first step, the first poem on the journey of a thousand wanderings.

It was very apparent that you spent a lot of quality time writing this poem. The syllable count made this light up and dance. A fluid and enjoyable read. I hate writings about cliche happy fairytale endings. You showed a not so happy ending...my style of penning. Beautiful!

Absolutely perfect! wow, nice words and clever writing here. As every stanza has same number of words, let me like this sentence; "I sauntered the deserts of scorching sands With club and cryptic cubes in hands" that is stunning and fitting so well with your statement. Excellend work.
