Someday soon, I won’t be bound by your relentless force.
I won’t have to look at myself and feel pity, ashamed.
Someday I will be able to smile and say “I’m Free!”
And while you’re trying to remember why it was you hurt me,
I will be telling people why it is I chose to forgive.
See, the many nerves you plucked at for so long,
I chose to revitalize and rejuvenate, and the feelings
I felt were turned into joys instead of sorrows.

Of anger and resentment will fall away, and I, like you,
Will live my life joyously; maybe you DO feel pain, guilt.
I will never know. But, one thing is for certain,
Chains can’t hold me, hurt didn’t break me.
Lies didn’t mold me, and death didn’t take me.
I can’t be defeated, cause in Him do I believe.
And by faith, I will be….*FREE!*
