Chained

Chained

A Poem by Raven Samone'
"

Not yet revealing to those involved in the "conception of myself" that I know the truth; bound by lies and deceit.

"
I been shackled so long, bound by a misery.
Something that confines me to my "cell."
When I try to escape, all I do is waste energy.
And when I try to release, it's pure hell.
Wake me up from this dream, but not fast.
Show me a new kind of reality.
I don't know how long like this I can last.
So I'm asking you to please just bare with me.
The engraved bruises you see around my wrists.
How my ankles don't separate so far.
The many "meals" it seems I might have missed.
And how every scab turns into a scar.
Unchain me from this massive solitaire.
Release me to fly....
Cuz I'm chained by the thoughts up there. (points to head)
And I'm afraid that chained, I'll die.
(lays down and closes eyes)
