WithinA Poem by Jeremy D. AndrewsEvery day we talk of what was, every day we talk of what should be. I listen and respond to what you say, each response attuned to your need. There is no beckoning of what could be, only the gleam of your happiness enfolded. I only profer what is asked, not wanting to taint the pleasure of us. My pain is not a visual form, the torture embibes the presence of you. I want you to see me as I am, but you only have what you see. The pain and agony of your choices, I emulate the response any would give. Only to hide the worth of myself, within my heart troubled to bare. I want you to see within my heart, that only within my eyes reveal. Talk to me as you would another, but gaze within to seek a lover.
