Within

Within

A Poem by Jeremy D. Andrews

Every day we talk of what was,

every day we talk of what should be.

I listen and respond to what you say,

each response attuned to your need.

There is no beckoning of what could be,

only the gleam of your happiness enfolded.

I only profer what is asked,

not wanting to taint the pleasure of us.

My pain is not a visual form,

the torture embibes the presence of you.

I want you to see me as I am,

but you only have what you see.

The pain and agony of your choices,

I emulate the response any would give.

Only to hide the worth of myself,

within my heart troubled to bare.

I want you to see within my heart,

that only within my eyes reveal.

Talk to me as you would another,

but gaze within to seek a lover.

Author's Note

Jeremy D. Andrews
This is about how I interact with someone I want more than just a mere friendship but dont know how to approach the situation. So I pain myself hoping they will see the desire within me from just the look in my eye.

This happens in actuality. It's just difficult to voice it out and cross the line beyond friendship. It's a risk. I enjoyed reading this.
