Where The Circle Ends

Where The Circle Ends

A Poem by iofthemourning
"

This is a song I wrote for my wife when we first met. It's quite possibly the first happy love song/poem I ever wrote. I owe every ounce of happiness in my life to her.

"

This carousel of pictures

Spinning round your head

Crawling to the edge

And the sentiment is fed

Every ending to a story

Has a new beginning left to tell

Every tear has a sweet taste

Every fear has a hell

Fear is too precious

To be wasted on the young

You’re leaving me breathless

And collapsing my lungs

Time passes quickly

On the secondhand of a clock

Remembering all of the dreams

Of past romances forgot

Light from the lie

And we cherish the hope

But children we see

In the way that we cope

Searching for a face

To bring me a crown

A face like yours

And I fall to the ground

Blame it on the falling sky

Where the circle ends

And we’re still alive

The damage is past

And we position our fall

The need of a life

To comfort us all

And I’m holding up the stars

And scaling the walls

Praying for a light to shine

Through the shadows in the hall

You pulled me out of that car crash

And we’re standing on the edge

To throw ourselves in

And let go of regret
