Dreaming of Perfection

Dreaming of Perfection

A Poem by iofthemourning
"

This was intended to be a song but it never fit any music. It's about a love that plays with your heart.

"

Repeat again the words you speak to me

My mind believes the evil that you say

Your words released stored in bubble wrap coating

But you drop the fragile package I gave you

Knowing all along the meaning of every word

And loving the care taken with the sliver of emotion

Shrinking back and never trying to love

Trying to let go of the strongest desire

The weakness of mind you took away

The weakness of heart you took advantage of

Raping the soul in which I existed

But seducing it into the feeling of making love

When you say my name

It’s like an incandescent mirage

Something there but never feeling

When you breathe each breath

I can feel your lungs inhale

And I whisper away all the things I feel

All that is left is a tower guarding my heart

But an open gate to the weakness of flesh

No one left to share the perfection of my dreams

No one left to dream of perfection with
