The Little Puppy

The Little Puppy

A Story by Amber Sun

The little puppy in the petstore,
Wagged his furry tail and thought:
"I want a home.  Gosh, I'm so bored,
Of waiting here until I'm bought.
His fluffy ears would flop around,
And he'd smile at every girl and boy,
He'd skip and jump and make happy sounds,
And bark his little bark of joy.
A little girl laughed at him and said:
"Oh mommy look at this cute puppy here!"
He barked a happy bark but her mommy said:
"I'm sorry but we can't have this puppy dear".
The little puppy saw them walk away,
He whined and almost wanted to cry.
All he wanted was to go and play.
He wouldn't give up.  He had to try.
Just then the petstore lady came,
He wagged his tail as she picked him up,
A little boy there asked "whats his name?"
She said "Its up to you, now he's your pup".
The puppy was happy, he licked the boy's face,
And the boy held him and hugged him,
Laughed and said "I think I'll call you Ace."
They both went home to play and swim.
The boy taught Ace how to sit and stay,
And they both are happy in every way,
At every chance they go out and play,
And they both have fun every single day.
