I Am He

I Am He

A Poem by Amber Sun
"

Rondeau Redouble

"

I know these things that lurk in the night,
I know better than to scoff or jeer,
I've seen the bravest of all in their fright,
I've seen your angels retreat in fear.

You can hear on the wind infernal screams,
You can feel the numbing chill from the bite,
Experience as an insomniac deems:
I know these things that lurk in the night.

You say its just evanescing dreams,
You say its the imagination you hear,
Please believe me its more than it seems,
I know better than to scoff or jeer.

Hearing tales of the prideful winnings,
Countless heros have tested their might,
only to cower before the beginnings,
I've seen the bravest of all in their fright.

Guardians above with their shimmering wings,
And halos adorned can come no nearer,
Than to witness the hellish torturings,
I've seen your angels retreat in fear.

Fear the horror around you that teems,
but pray for a man whose valor brings,
answers of truth to the evil schemes,
I know these things.
