Sonnet V

Sonnet V

A Poem by Amber Sun

As I paint my vision red to blind
the blue in me that God left behind
all I get is a gloomy violet
replacing the colors that I get
when the night envelops all around
with points of light infinitely found
across the eternal space and time
which my dark mind creates as I climb
this stairway to heaven's pearly gate
so I can fulfill the doom of fate
to look on across the barren waste
so many sheep died for just to taste
the divine nectar of God that gave
all who followed the title of slave.
