Chapter 38 Way Out

Chapter 38 Way Out

A Chapter by Jessica L. W.

I was sitting there, listening to the legend of Princess Marilynn.

“But to be able to join, he had to promise to bring the psychic back.” Was what stood the out the most to me.

“I’m coming back?” I asked the black. I miss Kevin; I wish I had someone to talk to.

I look out into the black, there was a guard walking, great, I might as well sell my soul. I stand up.

“Autumn,” The guard said, I looked at him.

“I was the guard at the gate, I was there everyday, you stopped coming I got worried.”

“Good day, Autumn.” That guard! I passed him everyday while I was picking up groceries for Marilynn!

“Yes, I remember you, uh, are you dead?” I asked.

“Yeah, I was killed by a, you won’t believe this, a dragon! I was killed by a dragon while hunting for the princess!” He started laughing, and his laughter soon became tears.

“My wife, my kids, how will they survive without me?”

I place my hand on his shoulder, “It’s fine.” He looks at me.

He had brown hair, a little past his ears, brown eyes, pale skin. He was your average man, and he died.

“What is your name?” I ask.

“Ethan, don’t you remember, I’m Catherine’s son, your mom’s sister?” He stops crying and looks at me.

“Malory had a sister? I’m sorry; I didn’t think Terrian and I had any family left.”

“Malory, I heard she went crazy, and killed your dad, Scott right? Also, who’s Terrian, and what happened to Kyle?”

“I didn’t like Kyle, so I changed it to what my dad, Scott, wanted. That dragon that killed you was Terrian.”

Ethan blinked, “I was killed by my cousin? Why was he protecting that murderer?”

“I’m psychic, I knew that Marilynn was a good kid, could never hurt a fly. It was the queen that killed Kevin. He told me himself.”

“Oh, okay. So how did you die?” Ethan asked slowly.

“I tried to punish King Jace through long distance, took too much of my energy.” I start to walk. I hear Ethan follow me.

“Is there anyway out?” Ethan asks.

    “I don’t know.” I reply. I hope there is.
