Chapter 33 LawrenceA Chapter by Jessica L. W. I had walked down the ridge, I saw smoke, a fire? I walked for a while before coming to a camp. Surrounding a fire pit, were guards. One looks up at me; he stands up and walks to me. The others just sit there. “What are you doing here?” The guard whispers. I stare at him. “Queen Madelyn, what are you doing here?” He whispers again. “No-nothing,” I say, “I’ll be on my way.” I try to turn around, but the guard grabs the arm. I look at him, he had blue eyes, gray hair, but he couldn’t be over thirty. “May I join you?” He asks. “Why should I let you? You’ll just use me to get to Marilynn.” I stare at him. “I’ll help protect her, King Jace is crazy, he has murdered men because he was bored.” He stares at me. I stare back, for some reason I trust him. I nod. The sun is setting, “Come to the cliff in the morning.” “My name’s His friends, they had their helmets on, but one had a knife sticking out of his armor. The helmet pops off the armor, the guard was dead! Were they all dead? I turn around and walk away as calm as I can. I make it out of I make it to the cliff and slowly make the climb up. There’s a butterfly, a pink on. It was flying across the moon, so pretty. I finish the climb; Marilynn was sleeping in Terrian’s arms. “Well, Marilynn, you’ve survived another day, five more left.” I was still worried about her. Five days in till she can take the throne, will she do a good job? I lay by the edge, and watched the pink butterfly fly across the night sky. © 2011 Jessica L. W.Author's Note
