Chapter 23 ScarA Chapter by Jessica L. W. I felt a stabbing pain in my chest, I had to stop walking, I went down on one knee. Kevin turned around and looked at me, “Are you okay, Autumn?” I manage to choke out a no, it hurt to breathe. I sat there for a while, the pain slowly getting better. Than it got worse, I saw Marilynn leaning on Terrian, Terrian had a bandage on his chest. It hurt so much, I started to cry. Terrian sat there, standing through the pain, just for her. She pulled away from him, embarrassed, and he falls, too much pain for one night. The pain got a little more bearable. I stood up, I look at Kevin. He had that worried look I always gave Terrian when he pushed himself. “I’m fine.” He stares at me, “I am, really.” He continues to stare. “You felt the pain of a love one?” He asks. I nod. “Well, what happened?” He asks. “Terrian injured his chest, my guess from a fight.” I stared at him. Kevin starts walking; we have been walking in a straight line, for what seemed like years, but might be only days. Terrian has always pushed himself and bottled his emotions. Always, once Terrian had fallen for a girl. He was smiling, laughing, always happy, except for one day, he went straight to his room, laid on his bed, and stared up at the ceiling. I was worried, so I went over and bothered him. “Come on, Terrian, smile!” I told him. He just stared at me. I kept annoying him for a little bit, than he finally snapped. He sat up, “Just leave me alone!” he threw a punch my way, which was easily avoidable. He broke down in tears; I place my arm around his shoulders, “What happened with her?” “She was kidnapped; people are saying it’s a dragon.” His tears dried up, and he looked at me, he was the only dragon in the kingdom, and I knew he would never harm a living soul. Apparently love changes people, like how it changed Dad, and how it scarred me. © 2011 Jessica L. W. |
