Chapter 21 Young Love

Chapter 21 Young Love

A Chapter by Jessica L. W.

I saw Kevin, and this girl, walking in darkness, in silence. Who is this girl, she had red hair, tan skin, pretty. Much prettier than me. Why Kevin? What wrong did I do to you? Oh yeah, I killed you. I killed you, I love you, but I killed you, and I tried to kill the only thing I have to remember you by, our only daughter. What kind of person am I?

My eyes open to my gift, my Marilynn. Where did the big dragon go? Maybe, “Was the big dragon a dream?” I ask, am I smiling?

Marilynn shakes her head, “That was Terrian.” She looks up, its night, and we’re on a mountain. Terrian was a dragon? A were-dragon, the perfect person to protect this angel.

“So, Terrian is a were-dragon, interesting. Why didn’t you tell me that before?” I sit up, I was on her lap? She has trusted me fully again.

“I forgot.” I look around; guards are on the ground, getting closer! I jump up and run to the wall of this ridge. Marilynn is still on the ground, sitting there. Stupid girl! What is she staring at! I look at the night sky; a bat-like shape avoids a flickering orange light.

The bat must be Terrian! That girl worries more for that boy than her life! Sounds like how Kevin treated me, saving me from the well. Even though he could’ve fell in their too, and break his neck. Young love, makes you foolish.

Guards are around me, Marilynn is next to me, I scream. Terrian lands in front of Marilynn, and bears his fangs. He charges, and Marilynn passes out. I run to her, kneel down and hug her, hiding my face in her hair, her black hair, just like Kevin, and listened to the sounds of fighting.

After the screams, clangs, roars, and spattering blood disappear, I look up. He did it, he saved Marilynn. Dead bodies are all over, as is blood. Terrian is in his human form, getting dressed. On his chest, there was a huge gash; he didn’t put on a shirt. He didn’t look like himself, he limped over to Marilynn.

He falls right next to her, he touches her hair, and he’s out, so cute. I find a bag on the ground over by where Terrian landed. In it, were bandages.

As I start to mend Terrian’s wounds, I start thinking about Kevin again. He was so kind, honest, sweet, loving, and sensitive, I loved everything about him.

We had a fight about Marilynn’s name, the first and last fight we had. She was the best thing that happened to him, and not me. He spoiled me too much, I guess. I would’ve let him named her Maxine, if just to remember him more. It’s difficult to live without him.
