Chapter 19 FightA Chapter by Jessica L. W. I look at my mother, clutched in Terrian’s claw, “We should’ve told her you were a Were-Dragon.” Terrian made a weird growl noise, almost like a chuckle. He looks at me, his mouth trying to make a smile. “Look where you’re going. Where are we going anyways?” I look towards the direction we were going. All I saw were woods and mountains. The sun had started setting, it was beautiful. The mountains getting closer, I found Terrian staring at me, he looks at a ridge on the mountain. He flaps his wings and dives down. I was laughing, holding on tight. Terrian placed my mother on the ground as softly as he could, and lands next to her. I slide off, taking the bag I had grabbed with me. I give the bag to Terrian, who grabs it in his mouth, and he flies away. I sit next to Mom and place her head on my Lap. I watch Terrian fly away, till he looks like a bird in the sky. The sun sets, leaving us in darkness. Where is Terrian? My mother stirs. Her eyes open, she looks at me, and smiles. “So, was the red dragon just a dream?” she asks. I shake my head, “That was Terrian.” I look at the black night, was that movement? A bat-like shape, it’s coming closer. It must be Terrian. “So, Terrian is a were-dragon, interesting. Why didn’t you tell me that before?” She sits up. Terrian get’s closer, “I forgot.” I reply. What’s that light? It flickers, it shoots up at Terrian. Bow and arrows! They are shooting at Terrian! Terrian shoots upward to avoid the flaming arrows. I hear the footsteps of approaching guards, but my eyes are glued to Terrian. Terrian is close, but the guards are almost upon me. I jump up and run to the other side of the ridge. The guards give me evil stares. I heard my mother scream, she’s standing right next to me. Terrian lands in front of me, facing the guards. He growls, baring his fangs. The guards lift their weapons, and Terrian charges. © 2011 Jessica L. W. |
