TANKA I

TANKA I

A Poem by inuSarah
"

The Japanese tanka is a thirty-one-syllable poem almost similar to Haiku. Tanka is better known in its five-line, 5/7/5/7/7 syllable count form.

"
The sun wakes me up
And the early morning birds
Sing a lovely song
The tender kiss of the wind
A new day has come along.
