AWAY FROM HOME

AWAY FROM HOME

A Poem by inuSarah
"

Villanelle is one of my favorite poetic forms. An example for this poem is Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good night". And here is my first try for this kind of poem...

"
Away from home I want to go,
To distant shores and distant places,
To where my feet will bring me so.

Flock of birds, when winter winds blow,
As they sojourn leave no traces;
Away from home I want to go.

A traveller, nowhere to follow,
Miles and miles I'll make traverses
To where my feet will bring me so.

Troubled waters in the rivers flow
Travelling through long distances;
Away from home I want to go.

I want to walk like no tomorrow
And search for life's missing pieces;
Away from home I want to go
To where my feet will bring me so.
