My Darling

My Darling

A Poem by Nora
"

'Young love' can often be overlooked, however I believe it's optimism, naivety and pure hear-ache make it one of the most pure forms of emotion. Here is an experience which I hold dear to me.

"

My darling -

Came with the changing of the leaves.

Unfastened my heart

And took me to Eden,

Where we walked amongst the caper bushes

And saw the world start anew.

Here the stars

Pulsate with a white radiance,

Which fills our entity with a longing,

A passion, an almost sadness.

My darling has offered me

An apple.

One which ripens in hope -

One which I shall gladly consume.

We came with the changing of the leaves

My, my. My darling.

You have captured a human aspect of the Adam and Eve narrative which is even spiritual. You do hint at sadness, which is the true nature of the original characters, but despite their original folly, it was love which conquered in the end - and so it does today.

Great writing!

Thank you! That was the extended metaphor I was aiming to capture. :)
Always good to start anew after learning from past mistakes and keep holding on to the hope of wonderful offerings. A beautiful poem with some captivating imagery...:).......

Beautifully captured. In a harsh world, it is refreshing to see such optimism as you have invoked in this. As you say in the description, young love is often overlooked, but that is only because we look back at our own mistakes, and not on the optimism it brought us. That fresh and daring feeling of hope and fulfilment is one we should hold onto as long as possible. We should lean from our mistakes, not wallow in them.
Thank you for sharing this. I really enjoyed reading it.
