Resolutions

A Poem by Vicki

This year, I’ll run five miles every day
To get fit, fight the flab, keep the blubber at bay
I’ll dine on healthy, home-cooked food
Lovingly prepared for my so-grateful brood.

I’ll endeavour spare cash to dutifully save
For a secure financial future, the way to pave
My outstanding papers I’ll file and order
Wishing I wasn’t quite such a hoarder

I’ll learn a new language, get the gift of the gab
With lashings of grammar and lists of vocab
I’ll change and update all my passwords online
So that no-one will be able to guess any of mine

I’ll tidy out all of my cupboards and drawers
So they’re not filled with old tat which should be outdoors
I’ll resolutely ignore all those great special deals
For outfits and gadgets and super-sized meals

I’ll organizes alphabetically the kids’ toys and clothes "
But by the time it’s all done I might be quite comatose…
