Old Black Soup Spoon

Old Black Soup Spoon

A Poem by intangible_soul
"

I wrote this a long time ago about a friend of mine with an addiction after going to her house and finding the object described here.

"

Babe found an old black soup spoon,
In the middle kitchen drawer.
She asked her mommy sweetly,
"Why don't we use this spoon no more?"

Her mommy snatched the soup spoon,
From her tiny hand,
And said, "This spoon is magic,"
"Its from magic fairy land."

Babe asked her mommy further,
"Why is this spoon so black?"
She replied, "Because a fairy used it,"
"To make her wings grow back."

"Why did she lose her wings?" Babe asked.
"How did she use this spoon?"
"Did she stir a special potion,"
"While she sang a special fairy tune?"

"Yes Babe, she sang sweetly,"
"As she stirred and mixed and fired,"
"Her magic fairy potion,"
"That helps their wings grow wide."

"Did fairies give it to you?"
"Can I have it back now please?"
"I want to make the magic potion,"
"I want fairy wings!"

"No sweet Babe," her mommy said,
"Because you are only three,"
"Fairies aren't allowed to fly,"
"Until they are as old as me."

Babe's mommy took the soup spoon,
And put it back in the drawer.
Then told her sad faced sweet thing,
"Don't touch that spoon no more."

I like to write but cant honestly claim I am a writer. I put things down on the page purely because it is therapeutic for me. I don't know anything about style, or what a good poem or prose consists o.. more..
