A Little Girl's Christmas

A Little Girl's Christmas

A Poem by Vineet Bhardwaj
"

Some Christmas...

"

A Little Girl's Christmas…

A little girl at a busy corner

selling handful of balloons,

street was filled with gaiety

but her heart with glooms.

For she had to sell them

before it was  too late,

her supper depended on it

such was her fate.

Cold weather and the fog

were now her allies,

she might be a bit tired

but it didn’t show in her eyes.

They told her, “its Christmas”

so, the world’s gonna celebrate,

and the aura  too promised

that her troubles would decimate.

She looked at her possession

so colourful and lively,

she wanted to play with them

why was it unlikely?

She looked at her possession,

which she had to guard,

she wanted to play with them

why was it so hard?

It is really deep. It reminds me of those who suffered from coldness when people were cheering with joy on the streets. A really sad poem which is heart-touching, and very beautifully written. Thank you for posting!
