The Gate

The Gate

A Poem by Devesh

Fading shadows lighted the way
as I walked through the woods
and saw the leaves sway
like I never could.
No pain could weigh them down,

though the leaves were brown
on the verge of leaving
a wreath they were heaving
from the earth from which
the great tree rose,
the gate had always been open
and also very close.

I love it Devesh!!!!!! The imagery was spectacular! It made me envision Fall/Autumn. It made me think that the person in the poem was sad and I felt like maybe they lost something dear to them. Amazing job my dear Friend. Please, don't EVER stop writing. :))))))) ^,^

Thanks a lot, Addy :)
"Fading shadows lighted the way" Instead of using the word 'lighted' I think the word 'lit' would work better in this line. I think it reads smoother.

This was a beautiful poem Devesh! A very refreshing read. :)
