Go

Go

A Poem by Devesh

Muffled sounds of feet
on a blanket of snow,
sounded like a whisper,
a whisper in the know.
The rustling of the leaves sang
the song of a life leaving,
destined to go on
and leave behind the grieving.
A lament lovely and sweet
echoed through the wood,
as the sun beat retreat
to where the light would..

Simplicity at its best. Nice, easy rhymes. The peaceful and pleasant setting provides the right background for the serious subject matter. You have painted a serene picture of Death. Noble and dignified. The imagery is again, simple but beautiful. My favourite lines were
"The rustling of the leaves sang
the song of a life leaving"
Keep writing! I think you have a very bright future. :)

Thanks, Erik! :))
This line touched me to the core: "the song of a life leaving". It can be read for different circumstances and it truly a sad yet beautiful line. The whole poem is stunning, Devesh. Beautiful, sad, yet still lovely in a way. Great work! (:
