What If

What If

A Poem by Devesh

What if I should wake
before I fall asleep?
Would I see the light?
Or fall a little too deep?

Fade into the sky?
Or swim across the sea?
Just let everything go?
To be, just be.

I see your star shine
amidst all the screams
your light lights my sky,
a blanket of dreams.

Makes me think and wonder
Am I mine to keep?
Why is it that I
am afraid to fall asleep?

I like the thoughts and questions in the poem. Sometime sleep lead us to the dark or the light. I did like the closing lines. To fear sleep and dreams would be a bad place to be. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You're getting more philosophical, Devesh. I need your poetry to wise me up. ;) But seriously, I adore this poem. Simply, unpretentiously, and brilliantly worded. I missed reading you. Sorry, I had a time off.

Wow I really enjoyed it. I liked the way it flowed. I was a little confused on the meaning but I think I got the gist of it :)

A very thought provoking poem. The questions span far further than the actual questions you ask. Great write :)
