Song of Strange

Life, darkness, soul

Songbirds wander
within my soul,
in search of sound
in silence strange.

The black yonder,
in devil's hole,
a birch, it tethers 
to a foal.

Its cries echo through leaden
sky, begging for a change.

Smothered sounds, 
a blanket woven
the stillness of the strange.

What we see often becomes more than is in a writer's mind.. perhaps because we each see or notice different colours, shapes, shadows. etcetera. And, in the process, just for blink of an eye or a sigh, time stays still and begs a change of impossible direction. Perhaps this is how you see and feel.

'.. the stillness of the strange.' What is strange to one, can be usual or common to another.

Sometimes a short poem is harder to write, but you did an awesome job. The flow and imagery were amazing and kept me reading with every line. The last stanza was my favorite, it packed a certain punch and pulled the whole piece together, wonderful job. ^^
