Ghost of Elder

Woven around my soul

like gossamer, a silken thread,

a ghost, he swallows me whole

and fills me with dread.

He lives in a tree of elder

rooted in my heart,

hides in a pool and welters

in the darkest of the art.

Whispers through my being,

like a shadow through the night.

Lingers without seeing,

the light's lithe might.

May I just say- WOW, Devesh. I don't write poetry, and I'm not normally one for reading it either. But this was simply stunning! The rhymes are perfect, the flow is smooth, and the message powerful. Granted, it could just be pregnancy hormones- but I do believe I even nearly teared at "He lives in a tree of elder, rooted in my heart.."
