ShadowsA Poem by insanity"A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to an obstruction." For light to exist there must also be darkness, for without one we couldn't comprehend the other.Staring out towards another black sunrise Shadows greet me as I open my tired eyes Another day stuck in hell to pass the time Sentenced to life but committed no crime Hooded figures pass by down on the street Marching toward a salvation so bittersweet
The silent frowns of lugubrious circus clowns Reverberate through a million ghost towns So loud the echoes come to me screaming But they cannot stir me from my dreaming This state of perpetual bliss is misleading As my heart lies on the ground, bleeding
The world around me, distant and blurred Like the truth, it lies twisted and obscured Warped by minds, not by the hands of man Sculpted, manipulated to fit the master plan Numbness keeps the vacant vessels reeling When pins and needles mimic actual feeling
Seeds of disaster sowed deeply into my mind Foreshadow a coming fear of a greater kind Memories like broken glass, rise from the soil Foreboding feelings make my blood boil Clouds gather and the shadows rise higher As I slip further and further into the quagmire © 2010 insanityReviews
