The Passage of TreesA Poem by insanity"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose..."
From rolling hill to immortal ocean The world is in perpetual motion All is coming, all is going Always ebbing, always flowing
Through the passage of trees Blowing gently in the breeze Falling, spiraling to the ground Their lifeless bodies scattered 'round
Every leaf has it's season Even in dying it has a reason Beyond the fires of the infernal Laying at the foot of the eternal
As the leaves molder and decay In it's dying hour, fall fades away For all the living, there is no escape When winter falls across the landscape
Mother Earth begins to shiver As ice forms on the river There is silence in the frigid air Birds have gone to roost elsewhere
White flecks of lost paradise descend Forming an illustrious alabaster blend Blanketing the ground in the dead of night Only to run away with the coming of light
Months pass in resplendent revery Until Mother Earth solves the frozen mystery As winter passes on, nary an eye sheds a tear Leaving us with the hope of a new year
As the smell of spring fills the air And buds fill the trees with vivacious flair We welcome the coming of life anew Watching the cycle of life continue © 2014 insanityReviews
