Ode to the Lizard KingA Poem by insanityJim Morrison is a personal hero of mine, I'm quite familiar with a lot of his work from the Doors but not so much with that of his poetic works, after reading/listening to some of his I created this whimsical little jaunt.
Shimmering in shadows Are jewels of the moon child Studied by minds on winter's terrace
Frozen feelings dance with the morning sun Laughing madly at the sparrows Who, smote by prevailing winds Flap tiny wings to grapple the heavy air
The monosyllabic soliloquy Of a righteous resurrection Within the concrete castle Mirror it's subtle vacancies
Technicolor boxes squawk At it's lacy lover's behest Silence is convened
Empty chambered glass pistols Hold elementary eminence On onyx ocean shores Bathed in azure decadence
Sentient emissaries Embroiled in eternal enmity Vindication vied for At the ancient's obelisk
Harlequin heroes Vacuously vehement In guarding the gates Of the new Eden
Sworn to the flaming sycophant Along with fields of endless ecru Together, excogitating mere existence Surmising supernatural intervention
Invocation and adoration Instrumental in implicating Demonstrative articulation To pious pliant psyches
Sixteen hooves on the horizon Gallop fleetly with cadence Serenading the coronation Of the lizard king himself
The wars of deception, proliferated in the name of strife The doors of perception, opened in the name of life Peace, the unending cornucopia, waiting to be unfurled All you need is to accept the idea, to be invited to his world © 2009 insanityAuthor's Note
