Now and Forever

Love is eternal

Out into the void

I make speeches

To an audience of stars

Beyond the reaches

Of realization and rationality

Stands the transcendental icon

On the back pages

Where the universe was drawn

 

Light is a passing fancy

There is no sound

For out here among the stars

There's no one around

Just two specks of matter

Joined in a celestial dance

One could almost say

It is a cosmic romance

 

A comet shoots by

Leaving a trail of angel dust

By which all things are led

It is love, not lust

That guides these two

On a magnificent journey

Through the heavens

In a mellifluous symphony

 

Images flash

Across the back of my eyes

Illuminating the darkness

And in it comes a surprise

That we are not alone

There are many of us here

Who believe in love

Without fear

 

As our story draws to a close

A revelation is clear

Where there were once two

One has now appeared

But fear not

For they are together

As one joined being

Now and forever
