ClarityA Poem by insanityJealousy is an ugly monster
Quite a clever ruse I must say, your excuse Is quite a mellifluous play On such a rainy day Why do we hide? Dare we venture outside Into the unknown From such tadpoles we’ve grown Into the people of today In such skies of gray Why do we seek blue When the clouds forsake all hue In the park down the way We walk, gathering the day Nevermind the monsoon We cannot bend the spoon For such tangible objects Are fanatical rejects Of the realm of despair Hidden in thin air Right in front of your face Disappearing without a trace Into the darkness of night Where the sightless have sight Echoes come careening from on high From the far reaches of the sky And into my cerebellum Waves of sound, as I strum Leave my lonely guitar Will they reach the mountains afar That is not for me to know They go wherever the wind shall blow As they are taken away It is to you, I silently pray That you will hear my message And release me from my cage The story begins here In a world of doubt and fear The witnesses of such terrible crimes Cower in such times Of despair and turmoil Blood covers the soil Your plans I did indeed foil For months I did toil To shake free of your clutch Your jealousy was simply too much And now in a moment of clarity It has all struck me © 2009 insanity |
