The Mist

The Mist

A Poem by insanity
"

After watching the movie which shares the same name as this poem it gave me some inspiration to take the 'Mist' concept in another direction

"

There's chaos all around
With a clenched fist
I put my feet on the ground
And wander into the mist

It's a long journey
But alone it must be done
For to be free of tyranny
The battle over ignorance must be won

Even the wise can see
Stupidity is a terrible disease
It grabs the ankles of society
And brings us to our knees

Indifference is the difference
Between wrong and right
If you're sitting on the fence
Why even join the fight?

Vacant minds tune in
To the radio waves
And the preacher within
Becomes master to the slaves

Believing everything we hear
Will get us nowhere
Living a life of fear
Never daring to wander out there

The mist can be a scary place
Out here you can find love
But first your demons you must face
Before you can have what you dream of

As life passes us by
And we live in safety
Dare we ever try
To be bold and break free

We're all the same in a different way
Doomed to repeat
The failures of yesterday
As we are witness to this feat

Blades of steel
Marry paper wives
Doomed to reinvent the wheel
All of their lives

Their b*****d children lie in pain
Betrayed by everything and everyone
They rise, fill with disdain
To blot out the sun

In the darkness
The mist begins to disappear
For there is bliss
In a life without fear
