Tick TockA Poem by insanityThis was inspired by a comment I made to someone yesterday, saying that it's rather interesting how we let a clock/time rule our lives and tell us what we can and cannot do.
Tick, tock, tick, tock Life lived 'round a clock Hands move with a click Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick
Like a key turning a lock Doors open and doors close Time comes and time goes Like a river flowing Never knowing What lies ahead in the stream Life is but a dream An illusion of grandeur So vast we cannot be sure That all before us is real That all we touch we feel Do we ever stop and wonder What is leading us asunder When all goes by so quick Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick
Tick, tock, tick, tock Life lived 'round a clock Circles make us sick Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick
Tick, tock, tick, tock Life on a humble rock Three feet from the fire Forward, we perspire Backward, we freeze Life is a breeze When you've got water Any hotter And we'd all waste With undue haste Into a fine mist Cease to exist Return to the universe For better or for worse To become part of it's fabric
Tick, tock, tick, tock Life lived 'round a clock We all reach the end of our wick Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick
Watching like a hawk For the moment it all stops When your pulse drops And reality fades dark You truly embark On a journey anew Out beyond the blue And into the black There's no turning back There's nothing left to say Time flows one way Like a river flows to sea Though it all ends eventually At least the journey is scenic Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick © 2009 insanityFeatured Review
