Sinister

Sinister

A Poem by insanity
"

There's a little evil in all of us

"

Crimson skies

Can’t feel the pain

You see in his eyes

As the blood begins to rain

Pain rips through his body

He begins to perspire

As we nail him to the tree
And light it on fire

Dressed in his suit and tie

The face of fear

Continues to stupefy

Far away from here

He runs through the valley

His twisted stare
Leads you into the alley

And he vanishes into thin air

He leaves you his demon seed

And you plant it in the ground

His embattled soul is freed

Deafening is the sound

As the seed gives life

To the tree of despair

Buds of fear and strife

Fill the heavy air

Across the hall

The children are asleep

With nightfall

He begins to creep

Into their dreams

With such sinister delight

Malevolently he schemes

Long into the night

His twisted mind

Echoes of the sin

You will find

Deep within

He slithers nigh’

The tree of despair

Grows closer to the sky

With every nightmare

A lonely man’s guitar

Breaks the silence

From afar

Comes the dark prince

Out in the street

Is the man in the suit

And he beckons you to eat

Of the forbidden fruit

His eyes glow

Like fireflies

In the valley below

Shades of a blood red sunrise

Prismatic light scatters
The reflection grows clearer

As the glass shatters

It is your face in the mirror
