White Horse: Planting the Seed

White Horse: Planting the Seed

A Poem by insanity
"

The beginning of a three part saga about a boy and a girl. It's rather cliche, I know but alas it's a good read in my opinion

"

This is a story from long ago

About a girl from Chicago

And a simple country boy

He was charming yet coy

She was brash, loud,

Brutally honest and extremely proud

He loved the lord and his mother

For him there was no other

This is their story

It is a happy one, do not worry

As winter's icicles began to melt

He told her how he felt

I’m no knight in shining armor

Just the simple son of a farmer

I have no white horse

But I have big plans of course

My sweet dear

These three words you must hear

For they must escape my lips

Before my heart rips

My stomach begins to churn

As my veins boil and burn

This, my darling is nothing but true

I love you

Kind sir, I know not what to say

However, I do not know you in that way

I must say it is impressive for a country boy

To come up with such a clever ploy

Though your heart is on fire

And your veins filled with desire

We cannot rush into romance

Tonight, under the stars, we shall dance

Just to be clear

I want you to meet me here

Upon the strike of eight

Listen closely do not be late

For I am a lady, for fools I do not wait

I shall leave this in the hands of fate

Please be here, for now I must go

At the strike of eight, we begin the show

As the hours passed

The young boy’s courage amassed

In hopes, that true love, this might yield

He met her there, out in the field

Together they pranced

Intertwined they danced

To the symphony of crickets

As the boy got about his wits

Hold me closer, he heard her whisper

Oh how he held her

The boy clutched her tight

And they danced on through the night

Until the break of dawn

With the last of the icicles gone

She spoke softly to him

Not of circumstance but of a whim

For such a simple man

You do the best you can

That is all I can ask of you

To love me, to be true

A smile crept across his face

His heart began to race

He only prayed he wouldn’t miss

As they shared true love’s first kiss
