Spiderwebs

Spiderwebs

A Poem by insanity
"

The wounds have long since healed but the scars are forever reminders of the pain you caused.

"

The spider sneaks in

The wretch reeks

Of cigarettes and alcohol

Living in sin

What she seeks

Will be her downfall

Clarity cannot defy

Sex and passion, her vice

Greed feeds the need

Nothing can satisfy

A roll of the dice

To sew the seed

Turmoil and terror

She spreads with a wink

Her twisted web grows

Surely it’s not an error

Do you ever stop and think?

No and it shows

I hope you look back

And think this is right

This is the path you wanted

You seem to have lost track

Night after countless night

Your dreams are haunted

By death and delight

Menageries of pain

Feelings of guilt and regret

A nameless fright

Inside of your brain

Have I gotten to you yet?

Or are you too thick to see

The pain you inflicted

The lies you leave in your wake

Or is that you’d rather be

A w***e, so addicted

To the fantasies you make

Maybe it’s the world you live in

Where it’s only you

Or perhaps your vision is clouded

By all the webs you spin

Or all the terrible things you do

Your heart is conflicted

The damage is done

I am no more

My white flag is raised

You’ve won

I’ve lost the war

You seem amazed

That I’d walk away

I’d give up the fight

And sing my sorrowful song

You couldn’t bring your self to say

I was right

I was right all along
