NightmareA Poem by insanityWhat happens when the subconscious mind and the conscious mind collide?
Dare I enter Into such dreams Where reality Is as vivid as it seems Here in the center In the core of my mind Surrounded by incredulity Trepidation is what you’ll find
Nightmare, I fall endlessly While you stand by laughing Hopelessly Strapped to an electric chair While you flip the switch All the while hoping To cure that seven year itch
Devils, Try not to be so tragic When defiling the masses Let me work my magic On the fools and rebels They’ll soon see the light When from darkness passes A dastardly knight
Fear, You never let slip Even when I’m flying free I’m always in your death grip As I stand here Looking over the ledge Thoughts pass as I see You’ve brought me to the edge
Terror, Like the great Appalachins You stand as a testament To the fruit of my sins With a tremendous fervor And undying zeal You call me to repent But I’ve become unreal
The scars run deep In all my dreams I’m dying Panic attacks shake my core Despite all my trying I can no longer sleep It’s too much to bear I can’t take much more Reality is a nightmare © 2009 insanity |
