Into the Darkness

Into the Darkness

A Poem by insanity
"

I wouldn't say I'm back but this one came to me. Just a short commentary on the proverbial class struggle as well as the government.

"
Into the darkness we descend
To light what's failed to mend
Down in the abyss we now go
A descent most painful and slow

Among the shadows we now walk
To the wretched fiends we shall talk
Dressed in suits of wool and silk
Born to deceive, plunder and bilk

Cut from the cloth once laid on the loom
These fine gentleman signal your doom
For they're all the same in the end
Pockets are what they aim to rend

The gold dances merrily in their eyes
In your ears, whispered softly, all lies
Sweet nothings left to comfort you
Rise now, out of the black, into the blue

Above, visions of a carrot on a stick
As the flames burn down the wick
The darkness now returns to swallow
At the bottom they've left us to wallow

We played their game fair and square
Left now with carrots dangling in air
We only wonder of those among the light
Living in the hills, in their mansions of white
