MOMENTUM

A Poem by Clinton A Jones
"

An oddly dark seduction poem inspired by Donne.

"
Let us map a destination
Island rendezvous
I will learn from you.
As time assigns new meaning.
This hesitant delicacy
hides no new unknown
Break off then, we will travel
Find one more truth or more
Steer by us and danger
Neither may return --
And when you know, I always prove you wrong
Pure thought needs no reward
No tower's leashed light nor open handed shore:
A heaving deck and shifting waves, black as imagination and
those unguessed things come
To consider ripping aside the paper wall
of lined experience and tales
Telling us ourselves and they each other
How captive thought is too soon
ended
