Saturday morning art class

Walking into what intimidates most

Despise prying eyes

And working in public view

Forcing myself to set up

Model arrives and disrobes

The overwhelming sound of charcoal on paper

Instructor wonders around

Standing behind me

And I want to yell pissoff

It sounds as though there is some subconscious identification with the nude model. Perhaps the speaker feels on some level that the instructor's closeness is a violation of privacy.

Thanks for the visit John, no the model, the still life or landscape all just subjects to capture. I just don't like to be watched as I work, it breaks my focus.

Hey, beautifully done Mary,

I'm of the opinion that facing down what we fear most is the greatest exhibition of courage one can show. Fear's like that, both a road to heroism or a road to hatred, and it depends largely on the walker.
