Powerless

Powerless

A Poem by MCS
"

“Despotic power is always accompanied by corruption of morality.” ~ John Dalberg-Acton

"

Inside a storm rages

Thoughts and unsaid words crash

What was once solid ground

Is now torn apart by neglect

Our elected bodies are drunk on power

As chaos rules the streets

Many cry foul

But once a vote is cast

No one matters afterwards

What recourse is there

For those who pay for

The comedy of fools

That lacks any modicum of humour

Thank for those kind words, so appreciated.
Love this, Mary! ... in the sad way we can love a tragic-truth-well-writ.

Well deserved my friend.
... And, yes, it's a gut feeling, heavy.
