Lucky Shot

Lucky Shot

A Poem by MCS
"

“Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms.” ~ George Eliot

"

My essence seeks solace

In dappled sunlight

In soft snorts

Flowing mane

Graceful step

Loving soul

My friend sees me

As I see him

From the ashes

He and I ascended

Our spirits bonded

Such wonderful imagery in this poem. The experience of bonding with the horses soul sent shivers up my spine. Thank you for sharing your writing.

Who's to say what happens after the lights go out? Perhaps both animal and human consciousness persist in The Great Beyond.

you've got that right. horses (as well as other animals) are magnificent creatures - loyal and emotionally intelligent. nicely said.
